I graduated from University of Galway with an Honours degree in Physiology. I then went onto study for a post-graduate diploma and MSc in Human Nutrition and Dietetics at University of Ulster Coleraine.

I have over 20 years clinical experience working in the area of Gastroenterology and Surgery. I was the lead Dietitian in the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust  Nutrition Support Team, managing both inpatients and outpatients requiring home intravenous feeding.  This gave me a broad range of clinical experience often managing very complex cases. I was then offered the position of Lead Dietitian with the Oxford Intestinal Transplant team.  Although an extremely challenging position, I enjoyed this job very much as it involved setting up the service as part of a team and then delivering this service to hospitals across the UK and Northern Ireland.

I feel so privileged to have had these opportunities and now to be able to bring all this knowledge into my private practice and help people manage their symptoms.  I have a successful private practice since 2001 working with  inpatients and outpatients in Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Hampshire and now in Northern Ireland. I continue to receive referrals from these areas but only cover outpatients now since moving to Northern Ireland with my family in 2014. I have presented at local, Regional, National and International meetings. I have a keen interest in gut health and especially in the role of  the gut microbiome in health and disease.
